Khanye officially returns to football

Junior ‘Aghahowa’ Khanye has officially returned to football as a player after six years of absence from the game.

It was reported in edition 1138 of Soccer Laduma that there had been talks of Khanye possibly returning to the game, with Limpopo-based ABC Motsepe League side Ngwaabe City Motors interested in signing him at the time.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star has confirmed signing with the team as he has already relocated from Gauteng to Limpopo, where he is residing at the house of club chairman Kgajane David Masha.

“Everything is going well and I have officially joined the club. The chairman is happy about having me in the team and the players are happy. I am happy about the contract I have signed as the chairman has told me that he will be open to allowing me to leave if another offer comes for me from elsewhere.

“It was the chairman himself who said he didn’t think I will finish the season with the team after seeing me perform well in training. I have been scoring in our 11 v 11 matches in training. We are playing our first game this coming Saturday and we have been busy preparing for that. I am at the chairman’s house as I speak, as this is where I stay as per my agreement with the chairman,” confirmed the 34-year-old Daveyton-born player.

The midfielder is likely to make his official debut for the team this coming weekend in their match against Dolphins FC at Jane Furse.
