Its your girl Andee, tru to you, like no-one else…
ON THE LOW DOWN WITH ANDEE MAHAMBA
What show do you do?
Mellow Madness (Saturday and Sunday 03h00-06h00)
What is the personality of your show, favourite features?
Youthful, energetic and fresh with a subdued and soothing undertone. It’s exciting enough to keep you interested and awake but not over the top. As the name suggests, its ‘Mellow’ and ‘Mad’ all at once.
Who does your show speak to?
It speaks to a wide range of people from the night shifter who’s working throughout the night and wanting company to the early riser who wakes up early to prepare for the day ahead; the late-night clubber returning from a long night out and ofcourse, the insomniac who lies awake all night.
Who inspired you to join radio and how did you join?
It’s quite a long story but, the short version is that I visited the Station for a meeting and … well, as they say “the rest is history”. I’m TOTALLY glad it happened though!
What else do you do besides radio, your hobbies?
I don’t hobby! (LOL)
Besides your own show, which is your favourite trufm show?
I love ALL the shows on Trufm (that’s the safest answer, right?)
Where would one find you on your weekend, what would you be doing and with whom?
At home or with my friends just chilling. (Yeah I know. Boring, right?)
What do you like most about Eastern Cape and its people?
I’d say the great entrepreneurial spirit that exists here. The majority of South Africa’s millionaires originate from this province. That means we have people with vision and drive. We just need to find a way to get these people to invest back into this province instead of spending their money elsewhere.
If you could be anyone else who would it be and why?
Beyoncè Knowles (without Jay-Z).
If not radio, what would you be doing?
I’m in the corporate and legal fields so you’d probably either find me in a boardroom or a courtroom. But if we’re keeping within entertainment, I’d say either television or music.
