Ayabonga Kekana
Ayabonga Kekana aka Somlomo is an entertainer, news anchor for SABC, digital content creator and a father to two. He joined SABC in 2017 as an intern and now he is the news anchor for Current Affairs. Ayabonga was born on the 13th of April and raised in Tyutyu, a small township next to Bhisho where he attended Tyutyu Primary School. He later matriculated in Bhisho High School in 2009 and went on to study Social Work at Fort Hare University in 2010.
During his studies, he discovered his love for radio which led to him dropping out during his 3rd year. In 2015 he went back to study Journalism at WSU after working on a breakfast show for 5 years at Forte FM. He later completed his studies in 2017 and joined the TruFM team.Ayabonga has now created a name for himself, Somlomo using his digital platforms and content such as the Xhosa Men Association skits.
He is a brand ambassador and describes himself as a visionary and a creative. He also tapped into that creativity and artistry by releasing a song titled Mayiqatshelwe.He believes that faith is what keeps him going in life and it is what has helped him succeed in the life. His faith has given him hope and made him believe that what is meant for him will find his way to him. He lives, breathes faith which led him closer to God.
