Pirates get 3 lashes from Super Sport United
Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic apologised to the Buccaneers faithful and took full responsibility for the manner in which they lost to SuperSport United.
The Buccaneers suffered their first defeat of the Absa Premiership season after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the Mbombela Stadium.
The Serbian-born tactician admitted that something is not right with his frontline as the Buccaneers struggled in the final third.
“A tough competitive match, we owe our supporters an apology after losing in this fashion,” he said.
“Maybe the crucial moment of the game happened we conceded the first goal, we were risking there and that put us in a position to go into the risk.
“At halftime we put on [Thembinkosi] Lorch and [Luvuyo] Memela more in offence, still not fully ready. We were putting balls in the right areas but we not effective. Something, somewhere is not okay in our attacking part.
“We were opening spaces, the opponent scored in those spaces. We were fighting until the end to find the goals but we did not succeed,” he continued.
