DJ Sbu explains fake Forbes Africa magazine cover

Entrepreneur and radio personality Sbu Leope (also known as DJ Sbu) is in hot water after Forbes Africa released a statement in which it distances itself from a fake cover that is circulating on social media.

In the cover Leope is holding his MoFaya energy drink.

On the 20th of March 2015 Forbes Africa was made aware of the fictitious cover being shared on social media of Sibusiso Leope, also known as DJ Sbu. The cover features the entrepreneur and an endorsement of Mr Leope's locally manufactured energy drink.

“We guard our cover jealously. People spend their whole lifetimes to get on that cover!

Forbes Africa says the cover is fabricated and that the magazine “in no way” represents or endorses Leope or his energy drink” said Forbes Africa MD Chris Bishop .

“I did not fabricate any cover! I see images of myself on social media all the time. I am extremely disappointed in Forbes’ Chris Bishop for issuing that statement”.

“I am extremely hungry; I don’t conform to the rules. I saw the image, it's brilliant, and I retweeted it”.

“You need to remember the struggles of small businesses in this country!” said DJ Sbu.

Listen to the audio for a discussion by Forbes Africa MD Chris Bishop as well as an explanation from Sibusiso “Dj Sbu” Leope himself.
