TRUFM CASTS NET WIDER FOR BIGGER REACH

28 November 2022 – Gqeberha – Trufm, the only youth-focused radio station in the Eastern Cape, will be expanding its broadcast signal to Nelson Mandela Bay and Kouga districts when its new 91.0 MHZ FM goes live at 13:00 on Friday, 2 December 2022.  The expansion will enable residents of Gqeberha, Dispatch, Kariega, Jeffrey’s Bay, Humansdorp, Cape St Francis and Oyster Bay to be part of the station’s growing listenership in the Eastern Cape.

The trufm transmitter will be launched in partnership with McDonalds SA, in conjunction with the grand opening of the McDonald’s Boardwalk store, on the same day. The dual launch festivities start at 11:00 until 16h00.  Listeners will have the opportunity to win a share of R9 100 in prizes through on-air and on-the-ground activations to celebrate the 91.0 MHZ frequency under the hashtag #91.

Eastern Cape Business Manager, Loyiso Bala, says “We are thrilled to be finally launching the 91.0 frequency in our home-base, which also happens to be the Eastern Cape's most populous and largest economic hub. With an increase in listeners of more than 65% over the past two years, we are confident that trufm's expansion across the remainder of the province will result in the station becoming the largest regional radio station in the Eastern Cape over the next two years.”
