I’ve been a Fresh compilations’ fan (like the rest ofSA) since ’99 when Fresh House Flava Vol. 1 came out.

Fresh has been the leader of the pack eversince with his multi platinum compilations. This is all owed to his     track selection on his compilations overthe years. When listening to this one for the first time, I wouldn’t blame youfor saying    that Fresh has gone all 5FMon us. Not unless you haven’t heard of a form of House music called Electro.

Just like every DJ Fresh compilation I ever boughtbefore this one, I never listened to it. Jus’ grab it and head straight for thecounter (now that’s what they mean when they talk about some one whosereputation precedes him). Unfortunately with this one I had to take a listenfirst. I guess the thousands of white people on the CD cover and knowing whatstation butters his bread these days… I had to bafethu.

Back to the CD, I have to be honest I was sceptical asa fan at first as track one put me off a bit (as my mind went on high alert…5FM!!!). Track 2- “Brooklyn Medlom” by Lenny Fontana & Mike Morin made methink twice. Track 3 by Chic Flowers – “Sing it Back” is a revised version ofthe song of the same title from a couple of years back but with very strongelectro beats. It’s an OK jam and the beats have given it life once again.

My personal favourite “Faxing Berlin” by Deadmau5should not have been on this CD. Now, I don’t mean this in a bad way but thesong does not Electro at all. Then skip to track 12 then track 13 if you wantto keep the momentum you’ve developed by now. The rest of the tracks down to#16…you decide on your own.

Otherwise I give it 4 thumbs up out of 5.
