Laugh until you cry, Mzansi style! CAST: Loyiso Gola, Eugene Khoza, Kagiso Lediga, David Kibuuka, Trevor Noah We all know who Loyiso Gola is right? And Trevor Noah. And Kagiso Lediga. Well they are all featured in this comedy DVD alongside Eugene Khoza and David Kibuuka. Kibuuka is Ugandan and he has that old African humour, the type mixed with old English humour. But he has his own style of course, reflecting on his many world travels. Khoza is straight up kasi, well not entirely, kind of cosmopolitan kasi. His set is side splitting, especially to the ladies as he delves into the intricacies of lobolo and what makes a good weave and so on. Lediga is a well-known face as he has starred on TV shows like The Pure Monate Show and the movie Bunny Chow. He’s funny just from looking at him, doesn’t even have to say anything. When he does say something it’s all laughs. There’s also Noah, the Zulu/ Sotho speaking “coloured” boy who grew up herding cattle and listening to Zion church music. As for Gola the show’s MC, we first thought he was American when he came onto the scene a few years ago. It turns out he’s a Xhosa boy who went to a Muslim school in Cape Town. The guys are hilarious and they’ve done this like the Kings of Comedy DVD where they take turns going up on stage and performing. And just like on that one there’s one member of the audience who gets picked on because he’s wearing a vest even though he’s thin. Throughout the show all the comedians make fun of him, teaching the rest of us a lesson that if you go to a comedy show make sure you don’t stand out. At all. What’s also nice about the DVD is that Podium Entertainment who are responsible for its marketing and distribution will donate a portion from its sales to charity. So go out and support the guys who make our lives less stressful by giving us a good laugh.
