Cd Review: Lira - Return To Love
Back with a bang is Lira with the 11 track album which is to its title, about love and feeling good. You still get the feel of that Lira sound we enjoyed in her previous Album. It certainly touches one, with her haunting voice, flawless voice and brilliant production (done by husband Robin Kohl).
It’s a bit soulful, jazzy and contemporal however at the same time she never loses that afro sound; which is very comes out so well in “Mali”. The album features some lovely listens such as my favourite track, “when I dance “which is about what happens when one moves her/his body and setting ones spirit free; “call me” which is more reminiscent and its first single “phakade” which is all about commitment and all the beautiful things about being with some1 you love forever.
Whether you are a Lira fan or not, this is a definite must have. If you enjoyed Lira’s previous album, then this is so much more. You can certainly hear the maturity in her lyrics and the connection between her and the music. A beautiful listen indeed.
