SA rappers “Abdus” set to perform in Span
Durban-based Zulu rappers, Ndlelanhle ‘Abdus' Biyase and Manelisi Ntsele jetted off to Spain on Wednesday night (30May12) to represent South Africa at the world-renowned San Miguel Primavera Sound Music Festival that kicks off this Friday (1June12).
The duo will perform exclusively on the Adidas Originals stage and in the process expose the African culture to Barcelona and other international guests. Primavera, as the festival is known, started in 2001 and is known for its huge focus on independent music and promotion of more established local and international artists.
The dynamic duo arrived in Johannesburg earlier in the week to promote Abdus's debut album, The Library, which was released on 15May12.
Ntsele started rapping in Zulu in the early '90s and helped start a revolution for artists like Abdus and many others in Durban.
He shot to prominence last year when he was chosen to be one of the acts to open for US R&B superstar Usher when he was in South Africa for the Hansa Pilsener Festival of Legends.
