The SABC sports presenter Walter Mokoena will be back on air this weekend.

Mokoena was taken off air in June for saying that the Bafana Bafana coach and captain should be fired after South Africa’s 2-0 defeat by Spain in their final group match in the Confederations Cup.

The SABC was under pressure from viewers to reinstate Mokoena. Viewers were unhappy with his replacement, Tshepo Mabona, on the Coca- Cola Soccer Zone.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago refused to comment on Mokoena’s return.
