The film is the heart-warming story of Siviwe (acted by Mzukisi Ntantiso), a young man from Fort Beaufort, and his fight for acceptance when he and his mother move to the city after his father dies.

Hotline receives thousands of calls

The governments presidential Hotline received 6 000 calls in its first three hours of operation on Monday, an official said.

The President’s spokesperson, Vusi Mona said the call center has been experiencing high volumes calls from the public.

"In the past three hours, we've received about 2 000 calls per hour."

The call centre opened at 09:00 for the public to lodge queries by dialling the toll-free hotline number 17737.

President Jacob Zuma addressed the call centre staff on Monday morning, saying the response to the announcement of a hotline had been "overwhelming".

"We want people to be able to tell us what their problems are with service delivery, so that we can assist directly.

A burning performance for the SABC music show Afro Café at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City

Theo brought the house down and had the fans eating out of their hands and shouting for more.

Lattimore donates 200 pairs of shoes to EC children

American R&B singer Kenneth Lee Lattimore donated  200 pairs of shoes, through The Ashé Foundation – a non-profit organisation in California.

“For my community of Mvezo we are truly thankful to the Ashé Foundation for this donation. Most of the children living in this area walk barefoot on a daily basis because of the high level of poverty,” said Mandla Mandela in a statement.

Anele Ngaliphi, 15-year-old Grade 7 pupil, said it was the first time he had owned a pair of running shoes. 

“I am very thankful to the donors and our traditional leaders in Mvezo,” he said.
