Yvonne to release a new album

Multi-award winning South African musician Yvonne Chaka Chaka has started recording her 22nd album. The yet-to-be-named album will have 10 songs, among them 'Right to Live', 'Hearts on Fire', and 'Well Organised Men'. 

The singer is currently busy as the current ambassador for Unilever's Lifebuoy soap campaign dubbed 'Universal handwashing with soap'. The initiative aims to sensitise communities, especially children, to the importance of washing hands with soap to avoid contracting diseases related to poor hygiene.

Our hotty for this week is Lwazi Ncedo Mvovo. Born in Mthatha, he was inspired to play rugby by fellow teammate, Odwa Ndungane also from the same area. Lwazi was born on 3 June 1986. The Rehab singer Amy Winehouse - who last month was found dead in her home in Camden, north London, at the age of 27 - had 'lost track of days' after drinking herself into oblivion at her flat because she was 'bored' and couldn't go out anywhere for fear the paparazzi would stalk her. 

Kristian Marr, a close friend of the late singer, said "The problem was that she replaced drugs with alcohol. White wine was her main drink and sometimes she would wake up and drink. It meant she lost track of days - for Amy there was no day or night, no Monday or Friday.

To celebrate National Woman’s Day, South African singer, songwriter and dynamic performer Verona Pillay has teamed up with Africa’s First Lady of Hip Hop Sasha P to remix one of her most popular songs, "Stronger". Honouring the legacy of the historic Woman’s march in 1956, the two deliver a hit. 

Verona's manager Poobie Pillay said "This collaboration delivers a track which testifies that women are indeed a force to be reckoned with. These two are actively engaged in uplifting and moving women through their music, with Sasha P’s lyrics being known for their ability to motivate and Verona’s mission being to inspire women through her music.”
