Amakhosi back on track

Amakhosi moved to seventh spot on the Absa Premiership after a well-deserved 3-0 win over Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City on Sunday.

This was sweet revenge for Amakhosi, who were dumped out of the MTN 8 Cup by the same Urban Warriors last month in a drama-filled match at Newlands Stadium.

Amakhosi made their plans clear as early as the 27th minute when Kaizer Motaung Jnr put them 1-0 in the lead and Thabang Rooi made it 2- 0 in the 42nd minute, and Nkosinathi “Chippa” Nhleko hammered the final nail into Ajax’s coffin in the 85th minute after a good pass from Knowledge Musona.

There has been recent demands that the name Pretoria appear on signboards to promote the 2010 World Cup are not an attempt to obstruct the event, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.

"We are part of South Africa we want the World Cup to succeed, we do not want to be seen as blocking it," advocate Quintus Pelser, representing political party Freedom Front Plus and AfriForum said.

Pelser was presenting arguments on why the name Pretoria must be included on boards erected to promote the 2010 World Cup.

The month of October marks yet another crucial time for the grade 12 learners. I am sure it is nerve wrecking for them knowing that this is the beginning of the most defining moment in their lives. I know back then when I sat for my grade 12 exams, I was heavily loaded with expectations from myself, family, school, community and country. It was important for me to pass. I had no choice because above all, my own expectations scored much higher. I had my future plans that I had to work towards fulfilling. trufm shows real talent in Stutterheim

trufm opened doors for a couple of tru-ly talented youngsters when the radio station staged a talent show in partnership with Amahlathi Youth Development Centre at the end of September! To create further excitement for the Stutterheim roadshow, trufm brought teen fan weekend favourites Blaqphamas from Ground Zero, 12 to 3pm and AJ Blie from Teens Unplugged, 3 to 5pm to broadcast from the Stutterheim Lutheran Hall where the contest was being held.

Only one winner would be declared from the selection of entries and categories included singing to dancing, poetry, hip-hop, street dance and kwaito!
