Anele Mda to tuck Malema in

Meet Anele Mda, dubbed as the South Africa Democratic Congress's answer to ANC Youth League firebrand Julius Malema.

Since the ANC's December conference in Polokwane and Jacob Zuma'sascension to the ANC throne, Malema has emerged as the new ANCpresident's most vocal supporter, quickly gaining both fame and infamyfor his often rabid war-talk in support of Zuma's attempt to be thecountry's president.

Zuma has now been challenged by the breakaway SADC. And one of TerrorLekota and Mbhazima Shilowa's key lieutenants is Mda, tipped as theSADC's most likely youth leader, and thus Malema's direct politicalopponent.

'The ANC Youth League has misrepresented the youth of this country,' she charged on Monday morning.

South Africa’s best dancer has been named – she is Elizma Wildschutte.

The vibrant 27-year-old from Cape Town triumphed in thethrilling final of the reality TV competition So You Think You CanDance on Saturday night.

Clearly the audience’s favourite, Wildschutte outdidthree other finalists at Johannesburg’s Standard Bank Arena and walkedaway with prizes worth R250  000, including a car.

The first runner-up was Thabiso Lebuka, followed by Ashley Searle and Kim McCusker.

“ This journey has enabled me to grow as a person and a dancer,” said Wildschutte of the competition.

Though five judges had a say, voters at home had the power to choose the winner.

ANC fine with new party name

The ANC has no objection to SA Democratic Congress as the name for abreakaway group which intends contesting next year's elections, theparty said on Monday.

Last week the party lodged an urgent court application to stop the useof the name the SA National Convention, on the grounds that it might beconfusingly similar to its own name and identity.

But, a statement said that the ANC could not stop the legal action, setdown for Thursday, until it received an official letter from theorganisation led at this stage by Mbhazima Shilowa, Mosiuoa Lekota and Mluleki George.

'We will not oppose the use of the name SA Democratic Congress as ourapplication specifically referred to the names South Africa NationalCongress and/or South Africa National Convention and/or ...
