Beyoncé takes home five Grammys
The American R & B singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model Beyoncé Giselle Knowles won the Grammy for song of the year on Sunday for her hit tune Single Ladies.
She beat songs performed by Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Kings of Leon and Taylor Swift for the songwriters' award. In this case Beyonce shared the Grammy with Thaddis Harrell, Terius Nash and Christopher Stewart. Beyonce, who led all Grammy contenders with 10 nominations, previously won four awards.
She remains in contention for four prizes.
The singer, who in 2004 won five Grammys on the strength of her debut album Dangerously in Love, she is the first to reach that mark twice.
